Apex – GPS Digital Speedometer · Last updated 30 July 2026

Apex is made by Curly Doggo Limited. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and who it is shared with. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected].

Location data stays on your device

Apex needs your location to work — that is how it measures speed, distance and elevation. The app requests location access while in use, and optionally always, so that trip recording continues when your screen is off or you switch apps.

Your location and your recorded trips are stored only on your device. We do not upload them, we do not have a server that receives them, and we cannot see where you have been. Deleting the app deletes them.

What we do collect

Apex uses three third-party services. None of them receive your GPS coordinates or trip routes.

ServicePurposeWhat it receives
PostHog Product analytics — which screens and features are used, and crash-adjacent errors App events, device model, OS version, app version, language, country, and a random identifier. No coordinates, no trip data.
RevenueCat Managing subscriptions and free trials Purchase and subscription status, and an anonymous customer identifier. Payment details go to Apple, never to us.
AppsFlyer Measuring which advert or link led to an install Install attribution data and device identifiers, subject to your App Tracking Transparency choice.

Tracking and ATT

If you decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or have tracking turned off in iOS Settings, no advertising identifier is used and attribution is limited to what Apple permits without it. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Purchases

Apex requires a subscription, with a free trial available. All payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed in your Apple account settings.

Children

Apex is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Because trips and location never leave your device, there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf. For the analytics and attribution data described above, you can request access or deletion by emailing [email protected]. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you in the app.
